Facility Objectives for Competitive Swimming
• To ensure that the legacy of the Olympic Facility creates an improved performance pathway for Swimming in London
• To ensure that swimmers have access to the best coaches in the best facility at the best times
• To allow the ASA to create a performance pathway to achieve the above whilst allowing access to clubs to use the facility in the opening stages
Prioritisation
• The UEL/ASA Performance Programme will have prioritised access and a long term agreement that will allow expansion over time
• All other club bookings will be able to hire on a weekly basis via a quarterly hire
• One off bookings / training camps
• Major events will take precedent over bookings and a 28 day notice period will be given to hirers
• Where clubs require the same space, scoring criteria will apply and will include priority band, accreditation, affiliation and needs analysis.
• No pool time is guaranteed beyond the length of a quarterly contract
Priority Levels
• ASA Performance Programme- Swimmers training under the guidance of the Performance Programme Head Coach
• Host Borough Clubs- Swim 21 accredited swimming clubs based in Newham, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham, Tower Hamlets, Greenwich and Hackney
• Performance Pathway associated clubs- those clubs signed up as part of the ASA performance pathway
• Other Host Borough Clubs- Accredited and affiliated clubs and non swim 21 accredited clubs from Host Boroughs
• Other London Clubs – Accredited and affiliated clubs and swim 21 accredited clubs from London outside of Host Boroughs
• All other clubs
Pool Allocation
• Currently up to 40% of lanes in the competition pool will be available to hire, these will be in 50m long course mode
