London Aquatics Centre are aiming to help Swiamthon raise over £2 million in 2019
Swimathon, the world’s biggest annual fundraising swim, has raised a staggering £50 million in the 30 years since it began, and London Aquatics Centre will be one of almost 600 venues around the UK aiming to help Swimathon raise even more in 2019.
The 2019 event will take place over three days from 29th – 31st March. Previously Swimathon has attracted over 700,000 swimmers across the UK raising money for charity, and this year welcomes back Marie Curie and Cancer Research UK as its joint charity partners.
In 2019, London Aquatics Centre will host Swimathon for the another year, as it welcomes swimmers to take part in multiple sessions over the event weekend.
The joint charity partners of Swimathon 2019 are Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, will be involved in Swimathon for the first time.
Marie Curie, the UK’s leading charity for people with any terminal illness and their families, has been Swimathon’s charity partner ten times since it launched in 1986 and has raised over £17 million for the charity through the event during that time.
Registration is now open for Swimathon 2019. Participants can enter to take part at London Aquatics Centre through the Swimathon website. Swimathon.org/participants/register
